Common name None It was very exciting to receive this specimen, collected from Namibia, from the Max-Planck Institute. I was the only one in the USA to have seen one. Since there were no existing drawings, I had to spend a great deal of time on its special features, such as its feet or tarsi. The Gladiators are sometimes called "heel walkers" because of their manner of walking, while holding the tarsi upright. |
