Common name Ground Beetle
In 1998, I was invited to intern at the Smithsonian, National Museum of Natural History. While there, I studied digital drawing in the entomology department. The intention was to use this new medium to "draw" scientific illustrations. My first subject was this beetle, which was completely black and about the size of a mustard seed. I worked on it for 2 months.
