This drawing was done at California Academy of Sciences. It was my first botanical drawing. The dried plants were preserved between sheets of Mexican newspaper. It was quite fun to read the Spanish and to picture the days the material was collected. Drawing dried and flattened plants while attempting to construct how they looked in life was one of my greatest challenges.
