I worked on the scientific drawings of the Gladiators for a year. When I was drawing the lateral or side view, the idea of "Buddhist" flames flowing like a mane from his back, came to me. It was an important piece; as it was the beginning of a new series. In Germany they called it "Tanz der Gladiatoren" or dance of the Gladiators.
