Disregarding, completely, the fact that this beetle is the size of a mustard seed and gets around on the ground, I imagined the world of his "microcosmos". The plants are roses, thalictrum, and our California poppies. These are the colors I have always loved, "Pop" and complementary. They jump and jive just like the insects.
